I keep hearing how Mac like the new theme for Ubuntu 10.04 is. I prefer to view it as less Windows like than more Mac like 
.

what is the name of new theme? i’ve 10.04 and i still have the same ‘old’ Human theme.
As someone who uses a Mac all day long as a primary OS I have no idea where these mac comparisons come from because frankly they look nothing alike. I think people are basing this solely on the window controls being on the left side and not actually on what the theme looks like.
theres more to it, jimbo… the purple-steel color combination, the webpage design (sort of), they all add their sand grain to make us think that
No, it doesn’t look like Mac.. it just looks like a Mac wannabe, rough around the edges, plasticky, lots of 90s like bevels, thick and unprofessional (still better than the old brown theme however). Add to that the incredibly unthoughtful decision to move of window controls to the left…
PS. Usability wise, the human being check below the Submit button is awful. Why? It completely ruins the whole comment submission flow. Should obviously be above the Submit button.

totally agree with you fella. I ‘found’ this new themes and i don’t like them neither.
Moving buttons to the left side is totally unprofessional and absonant with usability and design rights, especially considering long user experience with buttons on the right side. It doesn’t help anything, it just complicates things so why do this?
Maybe hire *professional* designer to do the job right? Design is one of the most important thing in OS and definitely encourage new users to try it out.
