Bug #1 is fixed, we are still trying to get people to apply the fix (aka Ubuntu Linux).”

    Symptom number one is not fixed, but Launchpad isn’t a symptom-oriented bug tracker yet. Bug number one is that there is no Free desktop that meets everyone’s needs well –and that is NOT fixed yet. We’re getting so much closer, all the time, but we are not there. Better than Windows? Heck yes. Better than OS X? Mmmhh, where’s our Final Cut, where’s our Logic? Photoshop?

    We are not there, but we will get there. Matter of time.

    @ethana2:

    Lack of applications is not a bug in Ubuntu (it would be if, e.g. Ubuntu made it hard to develop applications for it; but it doesn’t).

    You’re right, though, that we should consider your bug #1 not fixed quite yet. Neither sound nor advanced display needs (multiple monitors), to pick a couple of examples, are anywhere near as problem-free as they are in Win or MacOS. But we’re getting there (xrandr1.2 was a big step forward for the latter).

    As you say, only a matter of time.
