Thanks for the tip on the community-themes package! I didn't realize it existed-- now I'm excited to give some of them a try.

I would like to use Revelation, since it is more tied into Gnome. But with a dead upstream and no import ability to get my KeePassX, I'll stick with KeePass (even though it uses KDE libraries).

I pay for the 50GB for $9.99. I rather just pay for 20GB for something like $5.

Mike,

I have recently found Dropbox and I LOVE it! Do you buy a subscription, or just use the free 2 GB?

Jef,
I sent your comments to Jorge Castro (jorge(AT)ubuntudotcom), who work with Upstream projects on the Ubuntu Community Team.

I have had the same concerns about Upstream projects dying in a distribution.

revelation appears to essentially have a dead upstream.

And that's going to be a problem moving forward as it needs to be ported to using the new gvfs framework instead of the older gnomevfs stuff.

If you really like it, you should talk to your distribution maintainer about helping revive the upstream effort... or start looking for a new application to use in its stead.

Distribution maintainers of revelation, including myself, should get together and try to decide what to do about resurrecting upstream...or start thinking about removing this application from repository offerings.

Hmmm... OK. I thought it was the easiest install ever. Just add a PPA. But you are probably right...

There is nothing wrong with OpenOffice 3.0 (I have not had any problem), but I not sure it is a good idea for a Ubuntu newbie to change key components of Ubuntu install.
