Forum Thread of the Week: Ubuntu - My New Home by Kevin Carmony

Once a week, I’m going to find a thread on the Ubuntu Forums of interest to me and hopefully the Ubuntu community in general and blog about it.

Ubuntu - My New Home, is a thread started by Kevin Carmony of Linspire fame. In this thread he discusses Linspire, his new love for Ubuntu, his new projects, and the Mitt Romney campaign (could the U.S. have a President that understands what Linux and Open Source are?). I invite everyone to the discussion.

  1. Mitt ‘freakin’ Romney?!?!? What a douche. Maybe Kevin Carmony is pushing open source in an effort to help the budget. Let’s see, save a few hundred bucks on each computer by using open source to pay for a $12 billion dollar a day war that Romney supports.

I, for one, don’t hate brown people. I hate violence and war, and in turn, Mitt Romney and Kevin Carmony.

While your blog is not the greatest place to vent, I’ll do it anyway give give Mitt & Kevin a big “suck it douchebags”

  2. Derek,

Wars are started with the sort of hatred you’ve shown here. And, for the record, Mitt Romney does not unconditionally support the war, so please don’t spread THAT FUD.

    Sandy

  3. I got edited on ubuntuforums for saying douche. Thanks for being cool Mike.

To Sandy. I realize you have an emotional reaction that got your blood flowing and got you excited enough to post. For the record, my “hatred” exhibited is a hatred of war. So you’re saying that “Wars are started with [hatred of war]” I don’t follow. If you’re referring to my use of “douchebags” as hatred, I get it a little better, but it should not be confused. The only thing I hate is hate resulting in violence and death.

Further, unconditional or conditional war support still ends with people dying. Combine the people dying with how horribly unjustified this war was, how horribly unsuccessful it is, and that “support” is even worse, be it conditional or unconditional.

    PEACE! :)

  4. Derek,
I will not edit what you have already posted, but try to keep my blog somewhat civil :) .
