GNU Emacs 22 Released, No Really!

After almost 6 years since it last official release, the Free Software Foundation has released GNU Emacs 22. I have been using emacs-snapshot for awhile and I’m glad to see a new release.
I thought emacs was just a thing of legends. You actually *use* emacs? Wow.. /me is shocked… and walks away before any mention of vim slips his lips.
@Christer: ViM wasn’t designed to be extended. That’s why doing complex things is a mess. Emacs includes all the convoluted functionality of ViM, plus much more, and it does it while giving the user simple ways of accessing all that functionality.
That, and the documentation is great.
I recommend giving Emacs a try. Not only is it a better text editor than ViM, but it’s also a complete working environment, and all the functionality is available when doing all tasks, not just when editing text files.
I’ve been using a CVS snapshot of Emacs for months and v22 is much nicer by default than v21.
